Hi! I’m Lauren. You can call me Lo because Lauren is way too formal for my friends and fam to use. Welcome to The BuffaLo Venture! I’m a dancer, explorer, Sagittarius, music lover and enigma from originally from Buffalo, NY, but relocated to the Adirondack area in July 2018.
I’m completely new to this blogging thang but have been encouraged by some VIP’s in my life to start! I don’t take myself very seriously so this will be an interesting journey! I’ve always been a rather restless spirit ever since I can remember. There isn’t one place in this world that feels more like home to me than the other. I’m always getting questioned from family, friends, acquaintances and even Instagram followers how I can find the time to be in nature and traveling all the time; I mean I must not have a job right? WRONG. The people that know me well know this is far from the truth. For those of you who don’t know me all that well – I have a full time job as well as belonging to a dance company, working on other dance related projects and even run some social media accounts for other organizations and businesses. However, it’s VERY important to me to make the time to travel and explore. How can we ever possibly know who we are without connecting to something bigger than ourselves? And what’s bigger in our lives than the WORLD?! Through travel, I have been fortunate enough to make some of the deepest possible connections not only with myself, but also other restless spirits within my family and friend networks. I understand for most of us, myself included it’s just not possible to be out of town or country all the time; so I would strongly encourage EVERYONE to find the adventures right within your grasp on the daily. I can guarantee there are spots right near you that you never knew about or perhaps you just had no idea how beautiful they are because you haven’t been. I’m blown away by the spots I’m still discovering right near me that don’t require a road trip or time off of work and life to get to. Best part about that is, most of these spots are completely FREE OF CHARGE.
All that being said, I’ve decided now is the best time for me to start this blog that I’ve been flirting with the idea of for a while. I have some exciting adventures planned with some amazing and inspiring people that are fast approaching and I’d like to share them with anyone who would like to hear about them! I’ll be writing about local adventures near me, US travels as well as international. I’m hoping this will inspire even one person to make a deeper connection with yourself and this world. There’s so much beauty on our Mother Earth and I don’t want you to miss out! Lastly, if you ever want to discuss any of your travel adventures with me I’d love to hear about them! Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
“Make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.”
